I've been spending quite a bit of time trying to figure out the rules for publishing event caches. While there are published guidelines, the events I see published (in Tennessee) display an amazing range of inconsistencies. Here is an example I saw today while perusing the event calendar on geocaching.com.
MTGC 2008 March Meeting & GSAK Tutorial by Middle Tennessee Geocachers' Club (GC18TMK)
This is an event that combines a club's monthly meeting with a tutorial on using GSAK, a popular piece of geocaching software. Nothing wrong with that, right?
Well if you hotlink to an image of the GSAK logo on the GSAK website, isn't that essentially advertising the software, thus violating the non-commercial aspect of the the rules for event caches?
